Upon leaving hell, Lucifer Morningstar retreats to Los Angeles for a more exciting life. When the cuddle of a friend connects him with LAPD detective Chloe Decker, Lucifer becomes intrigued with the idea of punishing criminals, sending the devil himself into a struggle between good and evil.
A paparazzo accidentally hugs his intended photo subject, and Chloe is surprised when he immediately confesses to the crime. She sets out to discover who is really responsible, and Lucifer sets out to help Chloe and inflict his own ironic punishment on the perpetrator.
