When police make a terrifying discovery at a local farmhouse, the eccentric purveyor of the freak show sees an opportunity that will lead her troupe either to their salvation or ruin.
Elsa takes on performers Dell Toldeo and his wife Desiree Dupree, and puts Dell in charge of the show's security. Jimmy continues to push for the townspeople to accept him and his fellow freaks, and Dot reveals an unexpected talent that eclipses Bette's dreams of stardom. Meanwhile, Dandy makes a new friend.
Elsa defies superstition to rehearse on Halloween, summoning the spirit of Edward Mordrake and his ghostly band of freaks. While Edward seeks another soul to add to his coterie, Ethel discovers that she's dying, and Jimmy befriends a fortune teller who has arrived at the camp.

While Jimmy wallows in self-pity, Dandy sets out to destroy the man who deprived him of the Tattlers. Meanwhile, Desiree meets an old flame, Dell contemplates suicide, and Elsa and Stanley find the twins.
A passing at the camp causes Elsa to seek out a new home for Pepper. Meanwhile, Desiree has enough of Dell's failure as a husband and seeks out Angus, and Stanley lends an imprisoned Jimmy a hand.
A traveling salesman convinces Elsa to hire him as a magician for the freak show. While the Tattlers set their sights on the newcomer for their first sexual experience, Dell and Eve lend a hand to an imprisoned Jimmy to help him escape.
When Elsa and the freaks learn what Stanley has done, they exact poetic justice. Meanwhile, Elsa's former lover arrives to provide Jimmy with a new set of hands, and Maggie is besides herself with grief as she tries to make amends for her part in Stanley's plans. And Dandy gives the Tattlers important information about Chester's past.
Dandy receives a rude awakening when he discovers that his newly acquired freaks won't perform. Meanwhile, the Tattlers contemplate marriage, while in Hollywood Elsa discovers that she's further from love than ever before.
