Craig Manning is a new student at Degrassi. He's rich, charming, mysterious, and a photographer. When he recognizes Emma, both Emma and Manny can't help but to crush on him. When Joey Jeremiah, who married Craig's mother (who is now dead) after his parents divorced catches Craig taking pictures of him and his daughter Angela, Joey becomes uneasy.
Working late hours, Craig's dad released all his anger out on Craig, even beating him for little things. When his father finds out he's been seeing Joey and his daughter, his father gets even angrier. Craig decides to run away to British Columbia with Angela with the money his father gave him for a new camera. When Joey finds out, Craig decides to end it all by facing an on-going train.
Emma finds out that her mom is dating Mr. Simpson. Jimmy and Spinner sabotages each other in order to win a dance contest.
After a summer of rehab, and counseling after her little experiment with ecstasy, Ashley feels like an outsider when none of her friends forgive her. Meanwhile, Toby develops a crush on a cute Asian girl named Kendra, who is the only girl he knows that likes anime, until, of course, he finds out she's Spinner's adoptive sister.
Emma starts to worry when her science experiment - to see if eating healthy food improves your academic performance, doesn't go to plan. Spinner, one of Emma's "guinea pigs" starts to have an embarrassing "side-effect" by eating too the healthy food.
Craig invites Jimmy, Spinner, Marco, and Sean over to his house, when Joey goes out of town for the weekend. Jimmy, who is still angry with Sean, decides to stay home. After long, dull afternoon at Joey's house, Craig decides to take the guys for a drive at Joey's car dealership, which turns out to be a drive around town.
Paige begins to have a crush on a guy named Dean from Bardell- one of Degrassi's rival schools. Paige and Hazel decide to follow him to a party, but when Dean takes Paige upstairs, will he go too far?
After being raped by Dean, Paige begins to have nightmares. When a band contest comes up, Paige decides to get P.M.S. back together, and even invites outsider Ashley to join. But when Ashley wants to sing a song about rape, Paige starts to crack- especially when she starts seeing Dean in everywhere.
Toby is tired of being the "geek" because the guys who are in sports get all the attention. Toby decides to go out for wrestling, but in order to join the team, Toby has to wrestle a guy in his weight class, which turns out to be Sean- the best wrestler in the school. Toby decides to take drastic measures to loose weight.
Manny finally has the courage to ask Craig out on a date, and luckily, he accepts. The two go on a date, and the next day, they explain it to their friends. However, the both have two completely different stories- Craig had a horrible date, and Manny had a great one. How will Craig tell her?
Ashamed of her Somalian heritage, and her Muslim background, Hazel pretends she is Jamaican at the International Day at Degrassi. She goes so far to insult Fareeza, a fellow Muslim. When Fareeza's International Day display is vandalized, and has "terrorist" on it, Hazel becomes the main suspect. J.T. becomes embarrassed when everyone finds out he is good at sewing.
Spike and Snake's wedding is coming, and Spike finds out she is pregnant. Spike doesn't tell Snake, because he doesn't want to have anymore children- yet. Meanwhile, Joey plans Snake a bachelor party, while Craig, J.T., and Toby plan to get a stripper.
After getting mad when Joey hires a stripper, an angry Snake finds out from Emma that Spike is pregnant, which doesn't go over too well. Will the wedding ever happen?
Marco finally asks Ellie out when rumours that he's gay begin to go around. But does he really like her more than just friends? Maybe the rumours are true. Kendra begins to get annoyed when Toby becomes a bit clingy, and won't leave her alone.
J.T. is the class clown, and can't help but to make jokes. When Ms. Hatzilakos gives J.T. a weeks worth of detention to help her with the class guinea pigs, J.T. exaggerates his "relationship" with her to his friends, and even makes really sexist comments. Jimmy and Spinner try to be honest with each other.
When his relationship with Emma finally seems to be getting somewhere, Tracker loses his job. Sean becomes insecure, and tries to solve his problem by drinking. Ashley and Jimmy begin to get close again.
Jimmy and Ashley are dating again after almost a year apart, but since Ashley has a whole new look, but maybe Jimmy just can't handle the new Ashley without changing her. After a discussion of safe-sex, J.T. and Toby go out and buy condoms, but Spinner sees this, and wants Toby to stay away from Kendra.
The girls' floor hockey team has horrible jerseys, yet the boys, who already have decent jerseys, are already getting new ones from Joey Jeremiah. The girls challenge the guys to a floor hockey match- winner gets the new uniforms. Liberty doesn't make the team, and becomes the self-proclaimed manager, and becomes controlling. Terri reads Paige's palm, and discovers she has no life line. Paige and Hazel notices she didn't read her dominant hand, and play with the fact that Terri thinks that she's dying.
Emma protest against the school's use of genetically modified foods. Jimmy makes fun of Spinner for his clothing.
It's been months since Paige was raped, but when Degrassi has to play Dean's school, Paige has to face her tormentor.
The school year is coming to an end, and Craig gets a visit from his dad. J.T. has Liberty tutor him in exchange to be her date for an upcoming dance.
Craig finds out his father died in a car crash after meeting him the night before, and appears to be happy. At the dance, the passing finally sinks in, and Craig looses it.
