Coach has difficulty trying to unite his new team, the East Dillon Lions;. Matt lives as a townie for the first time and Tim finds his calling after a college lecture.
One of the star player ends up on the Lions' list. Coach attempts to build team spirit. Meanwhile Matt goes to visit an artist and Tim finds somewhere to live.
Coach Taylor experiences financial hardships trying to keep the Lions afloat, while Buddy Garrity faces social ones with the Dillon Panther boosters after the Luke Cafferty move. Luke also has trouble adjusting to playing for Coach Taylor and feeling like he isn't getting his chance. Tami is worried about Julie and her issue with her faith, while Julie is more concerned about her relationship with Matt, who is doing his best to impress the grumpy artist he is interning with.
