Will Schuester was a former glee club star and is now given the task of transforming the bunch of misfits at McKinley High School into a real group of singers. His first task is to find a male singer who can match up with diva Rachel. His prayers are answered when he hears the school's football quarterback, Finn, as he sings in the shower. Meanwhile, Will's wife is begging him to find a higher paying job.
The Glee Club performs for the school for the first time. Meanwhile, when Quinn sees that Rachel has feelings for Finn, she goes to any length possible to keep him. Later, Mr. Schuester's wife reveals some surprising news.
Will forms the Acafellas, an all-male a capella group, but spends more time building his own confidence than he spends with the Glee Club. With Will away, the club hires a choreographer to help coach them. Meanwhile, Mercedes falls for a boy at school, but he doesn't feel the same way back; and the Acafellas perform for the P.T.A. and get a visit backstage from Josh Groban.
Kurt decides to try out for the football team in order to impress his father. Sandy and Sue team up to destroy the Glee Club. Meanwhile, Quinn and Finn receive some life-changing news.
A new face stirs things up for New Directions when April Rhodes lends her voice to the show.

Inspired the by the students, Will composes a mash-up for a very special occasion. Meanwhile, in a shocking reversal of roles, McKinley High's cool kids are dethroned in an "icy" fashion, and Sue shows off her softer side.
Will encourages the Glee Club to support Artie, and asks each of them to perform in a wheelchair. Meanwhile, Kurt and Rachel compete for a big solo.
The Glee kids are divided into interesting duos to sing Ballads, but when one member falls sick a trio is formed. Rachel has a drastic change of opinion about Mr. Schuester.

Finn and Rachel are finally a couple, but for how long? Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff), lead singer of Vocal Adrenaline, catches Rachel’s eye and sways her heart, but what are his real intentions? Looks like he and his coach are up to no good. Will gets to kiss two women, but somehow ends up alone. Sue Sylvester is back as an even more conniving coach of the Cheerios. Quinn being out of the picture, Heather and Santana do her "dirty work".
Mr. Schuester is concerned that the girls in the glee club are being disrespected and bullied by the guys. Looking to Madonna and her musical message of equality as inspiration, he challenges the entire team to choose Madonna songs as their next assignment in the hopes that the girls embrace her strength, independence and confidence and that the guys will see the error of their misogynistic ways. The glee club takes the assignment to heart as they perform some of Madonna's greatest hits, including "Express Yourself" and "Like A Prayer." Meanwhile, Kurt and Mercedes give Sue a vote of confidence with a makeover that is definitely in "Vogue".
When Kurt sets his dad, Burt, up with an unexpected partner his plan for a nuclear family may backfire. Sue demands that the Cheerios! go on a crazy diet in preparation for a big interview with "Splits" magazine and April Rhodes returns to save Will and the glee club.
Mr. Schuester starts an investigation when a salacious list about members of the glee club circulates the halls of McKinley High. Meanwhile, Sue is mortified when a video of her performing the Olivia Newton-John classic "Physical" surfaces.
Rachel loses her voice and can't sing. Kurt attempts to impress his father. Puck tries to do whatever it takes to make him cool.
