An underwater photographer named Linda is attacked inside a sea cave. Her boat is destroyed and her partner Walt is huged. Mitch rescues her. Because she doesn't know what attacked her, everyone think it's a sea monster. When Linda talks to Devon, another lifeguard, she can't give her any good information about what really happened down there.
Harvey is feeding off the local panic, making a small fortune selling "Creature in the bay" T-shirts. Just when things start to calm down, the situation escalates when a fishing boat catches something huge in its net, and is pulled underwater by the mysterious entity below the surface.
Lifeguard and marine biologist Megan is tricked into rescuing a fisherman who appears to have fallen off a rock jetty. When she finds out that she has been set up, it's too late. He pulls a knife and tries to rape her. Megan hits him in the crutch and manages to get away by swimming away from the beach. When Mitch arrives, the fisherman leaves. Megan just tells Mitch that she took an extra long work out.
Mitch is having financial problems, so he and Eddie moonlight, life-guarding at a private party for movie-people. After a daring rescue, the star Larry Brooks is injured. And impressed by Mitch's heroic shugs during the rescue, Dita, the producer offers Mitch a part in her new movie.
Mitch convinces Kaye to write a piece about the San Dimas Pier in her new paper The Venice Voice. The structure is condemned and foolish surfers lie to challenge each other to "shoot the pier". However, no one wants to pay for the pier's demolition. But Kaye is persuaded by her father Ellis Morgan to hold off on the story. Her father's law firm is representing the owners of the pier.
When Eddie tries to break up a gang fight on the beach, he his hit unconscious by one of the gang-members. Then suddenly out of nowhere, John D. Cort arrives on his motorcycle. He knocks down the gang-members and help Eddie out of the water. Eddie is surprised to see him and so are Mitch, Shauni and Barnett.
When Eddie arrives to his tower one morning, he is surprised to find a homeless man there. When Eddie tries to get rid of him, the homeless man attacks Eddie with a shard of glass and steals a picture of Shauni. Mitch tells him that the homeless man is named Hector Clay, also known as Hector "The Collector". He was released from the mental hospital because of funding cuts.
After helping the firemen put out a fire, Mitch, Harvey and Brooke find a little dog in the water. Mitch rescues the dog and after that, the dog doesn't want to leave Mitch. He brings the dog home and Hobie gets all excited and names the dog Sandy. When Hobie goes to stay at a friend's house for the night, Mitch plans to have a romantic dinner with his girlfriend Kelly. But Sandy keeps disturbing them and Kelly ends up leaving.
Eric Turner has returned to Baywatch. Turner used to be a lifeguard, but during the 1989 lifeguard competition, he got paralyzed from the waist down. During a dangerous rescue, a dory hit him in the back. Unable to deal with his newfound condition, Turner shut everyone out, including his girlfriend Megan. Now, Turner returns to L.A. to maybe accept an offer to work as a swim coach in San Diego.
Mitch is forced to suspend Eddie until the matter is resolved. Eddie feels abandoned and when Frank and Caroline arrive to headquarters, Eddie hits Frank in the stomach, after a confrontation between the two of them. Shauni wants Eddie back and is determined to clear his name. She confronts Caroline on the pier. Caroline tells Shauni how miserable her life is and that she doesn't want to live anymore.
Allison Fowles, a beautiful seductive woman cuddles a man named Steve by handcuffing him to the bottom rung of a ladder in a pool. The next day, she leaves the house with a suitcase full of money and a dead Steve in the backseat. While on the road, she is spotted by Drew her ex-partner, who starts chasing her. Allison loses control over her car and ends up driving off the edge off a cliff. Mitch and Eddie are in the scarab and head for the rescue immediately after the car has hit the water. Allison is rescued by Mitch but Steve can not be resuscitated.
A calm day on the beach turns into chaos, when a two-ton bull starts chasing the people on the beach. Mitch is able to capture the bull with a lasso. When he returns the bull to its rightful owner, he finds out that the bull is the West Palisades High School mascot. The bull has been brought to the beach for the 20-year reunion of the class of 1972.
The episode start with Mitch, Newmie and Heinz rescuing a man that is trapped under a big rock with his leg. Mitch is being terrorised by a drug lord named Mason Sato, whom he helped imprison five years ago. Sato is now a free man and follows Mitch around everywhere he goes. At first, Mitch endures the intimidation, but when Sato goes surfing with Hobie, Mitch punches Sato and finds himself up on assault charges.
When a deaf girl named Lili, gets separated from her family on the beach, her mom freaks out. Kaye helps her finding her. When they find Lili, she has been pulled out by an undercurrent and can't get back to shore. Mitch heads for the rescue, but a mysterious Hawaiian guy gets to her first. Lili is brought back to safety by Mitch.
Mitch is trying to convince Captain Thorpe that wave runners would be an invaluable lifesaving aid for Baywatch. Despite a demonstration by Mitch, Newmie and Barnett, the county bureaucrats think they're too expensive.
Mitch is not pleased to find his Baywatch staff glued to re-runs of Gilligan's Island at headquarters. He shuts down the TV just as Captain Thorpe arrives. Mitch sends them off on their various assignments. While Eddie is making his way toward a couple of young lovers, he slips and hits his head on the tower ramp.
After receiving a letter from Craig about a great job with some sacrifices, Mitch goes out paddling to think it over. He comes across a boy named Cooper, whose father Hal is trapped 90 feet below the ocean, underneath a sunken wreck. Hal only has fifteen minutes of air left. Mitch calls it in and Shauni tells him that the Coast Guard along with Eddie and Newmie are on their way.
Debbie Kent, Shauni's swim partner, has a very demanding father. She has excellent times but according to her father, they aren't good enough. Therefore he grounds her and forbids her to see her boyfriend Zach. Without her father knowing it, she and Zach have a beach party at the beach. When they decide to go for a swim, a shark attacks Debbie and she disappears.
Two burglars named Beggs and Clark steal some jewelry. When they are going to escape on their motorcycles, Clark falls and is forced to leave the jewelry under tower 12. The next day, they return, only to find out that the jewellery is missing. After a walk down the beach, they find out that the towers are being moved sometimes.
Lane Brody, an environmentalist and former lifeguard has returned to Baywatch to investigate illegal chemical dumping. He suspects a company named Transicon Industries may be responsible and he wants Mitch's help breaking into the plant. Mitch refuses although he agrees with Lane. But Mitch doesn't want to break the law.
During a McClain gathering, Eddie is insulted by Shauni's father Robert. He doesn't approve of his daughter's choice of a boyfriend. Eddie ends up leaving upset. When Eddie returns for Shauni's sister Kim's engagement party, he guns down a man named Brown Goodman who bothers Shauni. Robert gets upset and asks Eddie to leave and take his present with him.
Harvey has been seeing a fortune teller named Rosalind for quite some time. Almost everything she has told him, has happened. Therefore, Eddie and Shauni pay Rosalind a visit. Rosalind predicts that Eddie will meet his first true love. She assures him that it's not Shauni. Eddie doesn't believe this at first, until one day when he spots a woman on a sailing-boat drawing just like the woman he had a relationship with back in 1985. Her name is Lorna Cosgrove. Eddie tracks down the sailing boat, but when he meets Lorna she denies knowing him and tells him that her name is Caitlin. Her boyfriend Roger is also on the boat.
