In the wake of a zombie outbreak, humanity survives and discovers a cure for the zombie's "rabid" condition. Thanks to a government act, Partially Deceased Syndrome sufferers are now given makeup so they can pass as human and are integrated back into society. One teenager, Kieren, goes back to his village of Roarton, only to discover that the local Human Volunteer Force representatives plan to eliminate any PDS sufferers that are brought back to the village.
Kieren finds the only way of escaping his mum, dad and sister Jem, is to hide away in his grave. Whilst in there he bumps into his old hunting partner - Amy Dyer. He is still struggling with constant vivid flashbacks of one particular victim - Lisa Lancaster.
Shocked by his confrontation with Rick in the woods, Kieren ends up at the supermarket where he and Amy huged Lisa Lancaster. Kieren finally remembers the whole incident and that Jem spared his life. He confronts his sister with the truth after returning home and they confront the demons in their pasts and pay a visit to Mr and Mrs Lancaster. Kieren later says goodbye to Amy who is leaving Roarton to try and find The Prophet. Bill wants Rick to make amends for last night.
