Kieran is adjusting to life in a PDS-friendly world, as he works shifts at the Legion pub. Elsewhere tensions reignite as the pro-living party gains government seats. A Victus council member enters the village and when Kieran runs into Amy and her new UCLA beau, he soon realises he needs to get out the village.
Maxine imposes a undead travel ban across Roarton and new methods in which PDS sufferers have to pay back their debt to society. Kieran soon realises he's now trapped, when he works alongside Simon, the two have a instant connection. Amy continues to battle her health concerns. Jem grows closer to Gary after a prank at school goes wrong.
Kieren and Simon find themselves being thrown together on the Give Back Scheme, much to Amy's annoyance. Simon tries to reassure a worried Kieren that he loves Amy as friend and nothing more. Gary attempts to deal with the fallout from last night's patrol, and is furious to find out that Jem has confessed to Maxine.
Kieren is feeling conflicted about seeing Simon secretly behind Amy's back. Simon manages to prove how much he cares for Kieren by agreeing to go to Sunday lunch at the Walker house. Amy sees them on their way to Kieren's house and is devastated by their betrayal.
Kieren is able to find the courage to face his family without contact lenses and cover-up mousse for the first time but is upset by the way that they react. After being arrested by Dean, he has to face the parish council, wrongly accused of freeing the rabids in the GP Surgery. He ends up being put under house arrest with the threat of being sent back to the Norfolk treatment centre if he doesn't confess. He is shocked to find out that Simon has disappeared and has some illicit Blue Oblivion at the bungalow. Gary follows Simon to the city and there is a flashback featuring his shocking experiences at the treatment centre.
Kieran is preparing himself to be taken to the Norfolk treatment centre for non-compliance. Steve isn't impressed and so has been keeping him a hostage in his room. Simon believes that sacrificing Kieran may bring about the second rising. Amy and Philip attend the village Winter fete as a couple. Gary becomes convinced Kieran is a extremist.
