Allison keeps having dreams that her husband Joe is determined to disprove. In a drastic measure he submits her dreams to different law enforcement agencies. Much to his surprise he gets a hit on a case out of Texas, involving the cuddle of a teenage boy.
The Phoenix D.A. calls Allison to seek her help in selecting a jury. He needs a jury that is sure to return a guilty verdict and deliver the passing penalty. Allisons abilities are tested when she doubts herself.
D.A. Devalos introduces Allison to Detective Lee Scanlon in an effort to help him with the apparent cuddle/suicide of his sister and her husband. Scanlon is standoffish about Allisons abilities until her theories start to lead in the hugger's direction.
Allison alerts D.A. Devalos that one of his witnesses is giving false information to the police sketch artist. Allison dreams she is being chased through an airport by a wolf who holds the secret identity of the real hugger. Meanwhile Bridgette, her middle daughter, gets a new "playmate"...apparently Allison is not the only one who sees dead people.
Allison is frustrated when Joe has a medical procedure done and she cannot "see" anything about his health or future. She seeks the help of Catherine, a fellow psychic, who warns of her trouble ahead. Meanwhile, Allison dreams of the location of a cuddle weapon and is later called to court to explain why and how she knows the location of the weapon.
Allison has a horrifying dream that one of her daughters has been kidnapped and cuddled. She is traumatized when she runs into the cuddleer from her dream at the D.A.'s office, providing information about a recent burglary. Joe thinks her obsession with this would-be hugger is being fueled by another source.
Allison keeps dreaming of a girl throwing herself off a cliff into a ravine. Finally Allison sets out to find this girl, who turns out to be someone who was dating a defense attorneys son. Elsewhere Joe is worried about the health of a co-worker who Allison forsaw collapsing from a heart attack.
Allison's brother is enlisted in the United States Army, and Allison is rocked to the core and emotionally drained when she dreams of his passing. While dealing with that she is handed a troubling case involving arson and an uncooperative young witness.
Ariel is having dreams of a young girl gone missing. Her dreams place the girl with an "ogre" holding her against her will. Allison tries to help her daughter decipher the message the dream is delivering, which causes Ariel to venture off to follow a clue.
When Allison turns to a professor, who claims to speak to the dead, she gets more than she bargains for. A dream of two boys racing parallel with a train uncovers the truth about the professor.
While Allison is sick and resting, her sickness takes over and she dozes off. While dreaming, she's taken into the behind-the-scenes world of the TV show she was watching, "I Married a Mind Reader," which was set it the 1960's. She dreams of the events that sent one of the main characters to jail for cuddle, but discovers that what appeared to happen might not be the truth.
A high profile drug lord is executed for his crimes, and Allison is on hand to witness the execution. Following the execution Allison is called to the scene of a cuddle, where witnesses swear the ghost of the drug lord is the hugger.
Vivid images of a plane crash hugging everyone on board rock Allison's dreams. She finally locates the pilot, who is holding a dark secret of his own. Eventually, Allison is forced to decide between turning in the hugger or saving the lives of hundreds of people.
Things go from bad to worse when Allison's mother-in-law comes to visit. A once-closed case is re-opened to try to find out if the convicted person is actually innocent. Things are not as they seem as Allison realizes there could be a set-up involved.
A young girl is butchered and Allison is called in to help investigate. Allison is shocked to discover that the hugger is possessing innocent people to hug for him. She must now stop him before he takes over more people and leaves more victims in his path.
Allison has a vision of her old acquaintance Captain Push from the Texas Rangers, in connection with a cuddle. She seeks his help to find a serial hugger, who excises his victims' hearts. Capt. Push must go to great lengths to help Allison with her case, putting his life at risk along the way.
