The first set of hopefuls audition in front of the judges in a closed room enviroment hoping to gain a place in the next phase of the competition where they will have to perform at Wembley Arena in front of a live audience. The auditions begin in Cardiff and first up is Luke Friend who manages to impress all the judges. In Mancheater, Alejandro Fernandez and Tom Mann manage to impress as well. J Star fails to impress though with his strange audition in London. Fil Henley fails to get throw after the judges aren't impressed by his rock star performance. Nicole manages to convince the judges to give him another chance though and this time he gets through. Some of the acts end up leaving Sharon in fits of laughter as they perform whilst others just fail to make the grade. After Silver Rock perform the judges decide the girls work better as solo artists and they decide to put through as indivduals. Siana Schofield, Rielle Carrington and Hannah Barrett all manage to impress. Euphoria Girls fail to impress Gary but the rest of the judges still decide to put them through. More acts fail to impress but Luke Britnell impresses all the judges with his performance as does Sam Bailey.
Those that made through the first set of auditions return to perform at Wembley Arena in front of a live audience hoping to gain a place in the next round of the competition. Sam is first up and after she performs she receives a standing ovation from both the audience and the judges. Next up is Hannah Barrett who also manages to impress and sails through to boot camp. Luke Britness is feeling nervous and fails to impress all the judges with his vocals and fails to make it through. Alejandro Fernandez manages to up his performance from last time and this time even impresses Gary and sails through to the next phase of the competition. Fill Henley hopes that his new bad boy image will impress both the audience and the judges. The judges are not impressed though and he fails to make it through to boot camp. Jerrie Bafundila and Tamera Foster return as solo artists this time after originaly auditioning together. Jerrie fails to impress but Tamera makes it through after a nervous start.

Chloe O'Gorman manages to impress the judges whilst Barclay Beales shocks them with his yodeling. Thomas Feeley fails to impress after he brings his laptop along. Relley Clark manages to impress as does Shelley Smith. Ryan Mathie, Stuart Manson and Abi Alton also hope to impress. Jade Richards, Amy Mottram, Dolly Rockers and Melanie McCabe return all hoping that this will be the year they finally make it through to the live finals.

Shelley Smith is first up and manages to gain a place in the next round of the competion as does Jade Richards who is the next to perform. The Dolly Rockers aren't do successful though and the judges fail to put them trough. Melanie McCabe manages to impress all the judges and sails through to bootcamp. Barclay Beales gets the girls cheering and also makes it through. Luke Friend and Tom Mann also make it through to bootcamp. The Europhia Girls aren't as lucky though and fail to impress the judges. Abi Alton manages to up her game and impresses all the judges and makes it through.

Kingsland are first up and end up causing the judges concern about their mix mash of styles but they still put them through. Next up are Brick City and Rough Copy who also manage to impress and make it through. Liddia and Ryan fail to impress any of the judges though. Giles Potter manages to impress though and sails through. After Lydia Lucy performs both Sharon and Louis believe that she would be more suited to being in a group but she still makes it through. Nicholas McDonald leaves the judges split about him after he performs. Stephanie Woods returns having performed on the show six years ago and made it through to judges's houses. She ends up receiving a little criticism from both Gary and Nicole though but still sails through to the next phase of the competition. Samantha Harper, J-Koda and Aaron Dale all fail to impress. James McDonald and Louise Harper both attempt to impress the judges after they perform a couple of old classics. Next of Kin are last up and receive a very emotional response from the judges.

First up is Souli Roots who manages get the audience and the judges dancing with her performance. Even though Gary isn't over impressed the other judges put her through. Next up is Lydia Lucy who manages to really up her game and sails through to boot camp. Jeanette Akura and Rough Copy also manage to impress and make it through. James McDonald fails to impress though and he is followed by more unsuccessful hopefuls. When Stephanie Woods performs the judges aren't impressed with her song choice but she is given a second chance to perform another song. The judges are then much more impressed and she makes it through. Kingsland and Next Of Kin impress the judes and sail through. Last up is Nicholas McDonald who really vows the audience and the judges.

Those that made through the fourth set of auditions return to perform at Wembley Arena in front of a live audience hoping to gain a place in the next round of the competition.
The successful acts that have made it through the auditions return for boot camp stage of the competition at London's Wembley Arena. The bootcamp process is completely revamped from the start this year. The judges are given the categories they will be mentoring at the beginning of the show. The contestants then meet their mentors before the eliminations get underway. Half ot the one hundred solo acts are eliminated as they are grouped in threes within their category and the groups paired up in so-called Sing Offs. After they have performed the acts learn whether they have made it through or are being sent home. The second day then gets underway and each of the girls left in the compeition performs a chosen solo track to the judges and a live audience at Wembley Arena. Each of the judges offer their views before Nicole decides whether or not they should take up one of six seats next to the stage. Karen Harding and Lydia Lucy both manage to impress but Hannah Sheares is told she that lacks any real soul. Siana Schofield, Chrissie Rhodes and Jade Rendle also struggle as nerves takes a grip. Tamera Foster, Relley Clarke, Jade Richards and Sheena McHugh all manage to impress though when they perform. With all six of Nicole's seats full there are still three more girls left to perform. Hannah Barrett, Melanie McCabe and Abi Alton each need to try and prove that they deserve a spot in the next round ahead of one of the current six girls in the seats. The over twenty fives are next up and it is down to Sharon to decide who will make it through. Sam Bailey and Sabrina Rumikie manage to impress but Souli Roots and Jayson Newland fail to impress. The last performance of the night comes from Joseph Whelan who really manages to impress the audience and Sharon.
The boot camp stage of the competition continues at London's Wembley Arena. Sharon continues wiith the over 25's and next to perform is Shelley Smith who really manages to impress. Katie Markham, Andrea Magee, Lorna Simpson and Zoe Devlin also impress leaving Sharon with some tough decisions to make. Gary Barlow takes a tough stance as he has to select six groups. Brick City and Rough Copy are up first both hoping to impress. Some of the groups fail to impress though when they are told they sound dated. Kingsland and Xyra manage to impress but Tenors of Rock manage to split the panel. Code 4 perform are next before a newly formed girl band perform together for the first time. Next of Kin are the last of the groups to perform, and with all his seats full, Gary needs to decide whether to ditch them or one of the acts already through to judges' houses. Last up are the boys who are being mentored by Louis. Sam Callahan is the first to perform but Louis has some serious doubts whether he can win the competition for him. Barclay Beales manages to shock the judges with his performance before Paul Akister takes to the stage. Alejandro Fernandez, Ryan Mathie, Luke Friend and Giles Potter also hope to impress but nerves get the better of some of them. Tom Mann manages to get the audience on his side and hopes to impress Louis as well. Nicholas McDonald is the last perform to perform also hoping to gain a place in the next phase of the competition.
The judges are joined by other celebrities in different glamorous locations around the world to make their selections as to who will make it through to the live shows. The hopefuls get one last chance to try and impress before their mentors have to decide who to take through. Sharon Osbourne is joined by Robbie Williams in Los Angeles. Andrea Magee, Joseph Whelan, Lorna Simpson, Sam Bailey, Shelley Smith and Zoe Devlin each have just one performance to try and impress. They then face a tense overnight wait before Sharon decides which three of them to take through to the live finals. Louis Walsh is in San Tropez with Nicole Appleton, Shane Filan and Sinitta to help him pick his final three boys. Giles Potter, Luke Friend, Nicholas McDonald, Paul Akister, Ryan Mathie and Sam Callahan all hope to impress as they battle it out to try and gain one of the three available spots. There ends up being some tears and bum notes, as nerves get the better of some of them. Both judges reveal who has made their top three and who is going home.
The Groups travel to New York to sing for Gary who is assisted by Olly Murs. They each have just once chance to to and impress before Gary selects who to take through. Kingsland, Brick City and Rough Copy are the first to perform for Gary, followed by Xyra, Code 4 and newly formed girl group Miss Dynamix. Gary then has some difficult decisions to make. Nicole receives assistance from Mary J Blige as the girls battle it out to make it into her top three. Tamera Foster is first to perform and is followed by Jade Richards and Abi Alton. Relley Clark, Melanie McCabe and Hannah Barrett then perform. Both judges reveal who they will be taking through to the live finals.
The finalists perform live for the first time hoping to impress both the judges and the viewers at home. This week's theme is the 80's. The judges give their verdicts after each act has performed. Nicholas, Sam, Tamera and Rough Copy really impress on a night that everybody gives a good performance. At the end of the show the phone lines are frozen just ten minutes after they are opened and Dermot reveals that Shelley has the lowest amount of public votes and will have to perform again in tomorrow's Final Showdown. The phone lines are then reopened.
Dermot is back with the results of the first public vote of the series. The finalists perform together live on stage. Ellie Goulding and Cher also perform live. Dermot reveals that Lorna will be joining Shelley in tonight's Final Showdown. After they have both performed once again the judges decide to save Shelley leaving Lorna eliminated from the competition.

Dermot reveals that Abi and Hannah are in the bottom two and will have to perform again in this week's Final Showdown. After both acts have performed the judges decide to save Hannah leaving Abi eliminated from the competition.
